Adults, how open are you with discussing sex with teens?

This is for one of my university classes by the way. And no I am not coming on here for answers, the class is discussion based, just seeing what people think and feel. I am asking parents, aunts, older cousins, etc.

If this situation has not come up, what do you think you would do if it did?
Would you or have you discussed sex with an adolescent in your family? What would you tell them? Would you give the sex talk to someone who was not your child? Say an aunt and a niece? Maybe she cannot go to her mother for whatever reason, would you feel comfortable giving her information and listening/discussing concerns?

In the parent role, what would you tell your child about sex? Risks? Don't do it? Be safe etc.
Also, depending on what your relationship is with the adolescent, would you discuss personal experiences? (not in detail of course, but just to be relatable?..first time, etc.)
As a parent, do you think you are approachable to talk about sex? Or is it a no no topic in your house?

You can say anything you would like, I would really appreciate it. Any experience you may have had with an adolescent in your family.

Also, would your relationship with the adolescent alter what you say, or how much you share? For example, mother and daughter vs. aunt and niece?

My 18 year old sister comes to me with sex questions. I was the first to know when she lost her virginity, the first to know when she was scared she might be pregnant (she wasn't thankfully). I can't even tell you how many times she has come over here to ask for my advice on a boy.
Although, we consider each other to be one of our best friends so that helps a lot with the comfort level. Any relationship/sex problem we are having, we vent to each other about it.

Sex is going to be an open topic in our house. Whenever our daughter comes to her dad or I with a question, we will answer it, age appropriately of course. We're not going to depend on the school to teach our daughter about sex. We will make sure that she knows all of the risks and how to be safe when she does start having sex.
Hopefully, she will find us to be approachable to talk about sex with her. I'd rather know she was having sex and get her on birth control than to have her be afraid to talk to us and have sex with no protection at all.
