why do people get uncomfortable when we talk about sex?

it's as natural as eating and sleeping, yet people still seem to think it's some taboo subject only to be discussed in private quarters. yes, WHO you're sleeping with and why is nobody's business but your own, but simply the topic of sex? that should be as free to talk about as which vitamins would help your digestive system (for example). it's just a part of being human, I don't see the big deal.
